The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 214,000 to 215,000. The 4-week moving average was 207,500, a decrease of 3,500 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 210,750 to 211,000.

Court orders health plan administrator, owner to pay more than $1.3M to restore losses to health plans in multiple employer welfare arrangement

OAK BROOK, IL  A federal court has ordered a company that administered a multiple employer welfare arrangement and one of its owners to pay at least $1.3 million to restore losses to more than 700 employer health plans after the U.S. Department of Labor found the company violated federal employee benefits law.

US Department of Labor announces all-injury rate for mining industry reached historic low in 2025

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Mine Safety and Health Administration today announced that injury rates fell to an all-time low in 2025. 

Also known as the total recordable injury rate, the all-injury rate for mining as a whole was 1.74 per 200,000 hours worked in 2025, down from 1.82 last year.
