WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Department of Labor reminds the nation’s employers that the deadline to submit applications for the 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion Award is April 30, 2020.

President Donald J. Trump signed into law the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act of 2017 (HIRE Vets Act) on May 5, 2017, creating the only federal-level award that recognizes the commitment of job creators to hire America’s veterans.

WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Department of Labor announced today the availability of approximately $22 million in Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP) grants to provide services to reintegrate homeless veterans into meaningful employment and work to stimulate the development of effective service delivery systems that address the complex problems facing homeless veterans. The department’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) administers the program.

WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Veterans’ Employment & Training Services (VETS) today announced a Transition Assistance Program (TAP) contract to provide employment-related transition services, such as classroom instruction, personalized career transition assistance and apprenticeship placement services to approximately 200,000 transitioning service members annually at military installations worldwide.

WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Department of Labor has announced the availability of up to $2.5 million for cooperative agreements with partnerships that will work to increase and expedite attainment of state occupational licenses by veterans and transitioning servicemembers. Through this funding opportunity, the Department expects to award one to three cooperative agreements for between $750,000 and $2,500,000; and the projects will have a three-year period of performance.
