GENOA, IL – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited Cleary Pallet Sales Inc., a Genoa, Illinois-based pallet manufacturer, after 10 employees required emergency medical treatment for carbon monoxide exposure. The company faces proposed penalties totaling $216,253.

SEMINOLE, TX – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has renewed its alliance with Fehr's Metal Building Construction to help protect construction workers involved in commercial, industrial, and retail construction throughout West Texas.   

The three-year alliance focuses on preventing fall, struck-by, caught-in/between, electrocution, and heat illness hazards. The goals of the alliance include implementing best practices, improving safety and health programs, and increasing training.

The Melbourne, Florida-based residential framing contractor faces proposed penalties of $48,778.

MIAMI, FL – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited Bakery Management Corp., doing business as Bakery Corp., for exposing employees to caught-in, fall, and electrical hazards. The Miami-based commercial bakery faces proposed penalties of $67,261.

OSHA cited the Miami-based manufacturer of bakery rack loaders for allowing employees to use spliced extension cords as well as for failing to properly store chemical cylinders and anchor machinery.

NAPLES, FL – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited Douglas N. Higgins Inc., a South Florida utility contractor, for exposing employees to cave-in and other hazards at a Naples worksite. The company faces $18,659 in proposed penalties.

BILLINGS, MT – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Montana Contractor Compensation Fund (MCCF) have signed an alliance to protect employees from construction industry hazards. MCCF is a group insurance company formed by the Montana Contractors Association to help control workers' compensation costs.

APPLETON, WI ‒ The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited Appleton roofing contractor Hector Hernandez again after OSHA inspectors observed employees exposed to falls and other safety hazards at two Wisconsin job sites. OSHA proposed penalties of $120,320.

DENVER, CO – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited EnviroTech Services Inc. – based in Greeley, Colorado – after an employee died due to lack of oxygen while cleaning the inside of a railcar. A second employee who tried to rescue the co-worker was also overcome, but survived. EnviroTech Services Inc. faces $64,857 in proposed penalties.

CONCORD, NH – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) cited EWP Renewable Corp., doing business as Springfield Power LLC, for 25 safety violations after an employee suffered fatal injuries after he was pulled into a conveyor at the company’s Springfield plant in November 2017. The Mount Laurel, New Jersey, company faces $125,460 in proposed penalties.

BOSTON, MA – After multiple investigations by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit ordered a Maine roofing contractor who has operated as Lessard Roofing & Siding Inc. and Lessard Brothers Construction Inc. to implement a comprehensive safety and training program after receiving repeated citations for exposing workers to falls.

Barrientos faces proposed penalties totaling $191,071 for two willful and six serious violations.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) cited P&S Paving Inc., a Daytona Beach underground utility construction company, for exposing employees to cave-in hazards. The company faces $138,927 in proposed penalties.

Higgins Inc., a South Florida utility company, after an employee suffered fatal injuries at a Naples Park worksite. The company faces $162,596 in proposed penalties, the maximum allowed.
