Use of Funds: The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded $615,090 in Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act National Dislocated Worker Grant funding to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development to provide reemployment services to workers impacted by the 2015 closure of both Assurant Health and Wells Fargo in Milwaukee in May and June. The funds will help provide a full array of dislocated worker services offered by the HIRE Center, which is a partnership of several employment and training service entities from both the public and non-profit sectors. Each affected workers will have a case manager to assist in mapping career goals that reflect the individual’s reemployment needs and interests.
