EBSA to host webcast on saving tips for college seniors and new employees
Washington – On Thursday, Sept. 22 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. EDT, the Employee Benefits Security Administration will host a webcast on saving for college students and those who are new to the workforce.
Titled "Time is On Your Side – Savings Tips for College Seniors and New Employees," the webcast will offer tips and strategies on starting early to maximize savings for retirement, emergency funds and major purchases.
Whether looking ahead to graduation or just starting a career, a steady paycheck comes with important decisions. The U.S. Department of Labor is sponsoring this webcast to provide information to help workers manage their money as they work toward short and long-term goals. Saving even a little money each month gives those savings time to grow.
EBSA officials will be joined by the Consumer Federation of America/America Saves and WISER, the Women's Institute for a Secure Retirement. The groups will discuss using a budget, how to start saving, and the importance of starting early, especially for long-term goals like retirement.
