MACON, GA – Federal contractor Asplundh Tree Expert Co. has agreed to pay $55,000 in back wages after a routine compliance evaluation by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) found alleged systemic hiring discrimination violations at its Macon, Georgia, facility. U.S. Department of Labor Announces Updates to H-1B Labor Condition Application and Worker Complaint Form

WASHINGTON, DC – As the U.S. Department of Labor continues efforts to confront visa program fraud and abuse, the Department announced that it will publish updates to the H-1B Labor Condition Application (Form ETA-9035) and worker complaint form (Form WH-4). These changes are intended to improve H-1B program compliance and promote greater transparency regarding the employment of foreign temporary workers.

U.S. Department of Labor Recovers More Than $2.9 Million To Resolve Alleged Pay Discrimination Violations at Dell EMC

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The U.S. Department of Labor has reached a settlement with Dell EMC that requires the company to pay more than $2.9 million in back wages to remedy alleged pay discrimination violations at four Dell EMC locations in California and North Carolina. Headquartered in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, Dell EMC is a federal contractor providing computing, networking, and data storage solutions.

Maine Vegetable Farm Pays $10,164 Penalty and Amends Hiring and Pay Practices in U.S. Department of Labor Agreement

MANCHESTER, NH – The U.S. Department of Labor has reached a settlement with a Maine vegetable farm after an investigation found that it willfully violated terms of the H-2B non-immigrant visa program under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). Under the settlement agreement, Green Thumb Farms Inc. of Fryeburg has paid $10,164 in penalties to the Department and agreed to comply with the law, applicable H-2B regulations, and the obligations agreed and attested to in all of its temporary employment certification applications.

Settlement resolves 24-year-old hiring discrimination case

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Labor has settled a case that arose from a 1993 compliance review of NationsBank, N.A., that found systematic hiring violations involving African-American applicants for entry-level jobs and led to more than two decades of litigation. NationsBank merged with the Bank of America, N.A. in 1998.

Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits of Louisiana resolves US Labor Department claim of hiring discrimination against 467 warehouse workers

SAINT ROSE, La. – A routine investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs found that Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits of Louisiana, LLC, systemically discriminated against black applicants in its hiring practices at its St. Rose warehouse facility. The company has entered into a consent decree to resolve the department’s claims.
