To explain the measure used to indicate performance in meeting the GPRA goal of facilitating the reemployment of UI beneficiaries and to give the baseline value and the FY 2007 target for this performance indicator.

To transmit information about the activities of the WIA Readiness Workgroups to the workforce investment system.

To ensure State Workforce Agencies are aware of the locality-based salary rates for certain Federal civilian employees.

To announce changes to the advisory system (formerly called the directives system), used by ETA to communicate guidance and information to the states, grant recipients, and other interested parties.

To announce a planned BTQ Nonmonetary Determination Evaluation Training Seminar.

To provide revisions and clarification to technical guidance previously issued to states for reporting participant data required under Title 1B of the Workforce Investment Act. Additionally, to notify states that in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act, OMB has granted a 90 day extension to this reporting packet to allow for the collection of data on the quarterly and annual reports, and the WIASRD. This action extends the reporting packet to January 31, 2002.

To provide instructions to states for modifying their State Strategic Plans for Title I of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA) and the Wagner-Peyser Act (“the State Plan”) for years three and four of the current five-year planning cycle to ensure that states have approved plans in place to receive formula allotments; and to provide instructions to states for extending existing waivers and requesting new waivers. The deadline for these submissions is April 1, 2007.

To announce dates for the subject conference and provide information about the plans under way.

To announce the initial release and availability of the report: Significant Measures of State Unemployment Insurance Tax Systems (available for CY 2006 and CY 2005).

To transmit guidance and instruction for submitting state performance reports required under the Act. Final submissions must be received by December 1, 2001. Contents of these reports will be released to the appropriate Congressional committees and the public in both print format and on ETA¿s Website.
