Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su celebrated Labor Day 2024 by marching in Charlotte, North Carolina’s Labor Day parade in solidarity with workers and unions in the region. In a statement, Acting Secretary Su said, “On Labor Day – and every day – we will stand with and support workers, ensuring they have the ability to thrive because, as President Biden says proudly, ‘the middle class built America, and unions built the middle class.’”

On Wednesday, Acting Secretary Su addressed the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers convention in New York City. United by the 2024 convention’s theme, “Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future,” about 1,200 elected delegates representing workers from companies such as Harley-Davidson, Southwest Airlines, Boeing, Pratt & Whitney, Freightliner and the Tennessee Valley Authority gathered at the annual convention.
