To provide State Workforce Agencies (SWAs) corrected instructions concerning augmentation of Temporary Extended Unemployment Compensation for displaced airline and related workers (TEUC-A) during the transition period.

To transmit estimated employer contribution rates for 1998.

To transmit Federal military retired pay due to annual cost of living adjustments(COLAs).

To advise State Employment Security Agencies (SESAs) of the Department of Labor's (DOL) policy concerning Y2K Business Continuity and Contingency Plans; to provide guidance for developing business continuity and contingency plans; and to require the submission of plans for unemployment insurance (UI) critical business functions.

To transmit the revised Federal Schedule of Remuneration for the UCX program based on the January 1, 2004, military pay increase.

To transmit the subject computation for State Workforce Agency use in computing minimum weekly DUA amounts for all major disasters declared during the second quarter of fiscal year (FY) 2004.

To advise State Employment Security Agencies (SESAs) of the publication of proposed regulations by the Department of Justice (DOJ) that would impact the States' administration of Federal unemployment compensation (UC) programs and of the opportunity to provide comments. The proposed rule requires procedures that may be a significant departure from the general methods of filing for intrastate and interstate Federal and State UC depending upon the State's current filing practices.
