Keeper of the Flame

Ann Dore (née McLaughlin) Korologos (b. Nov. 16, 1941) serves as secretary of labor during the final two years of the Reagan administration. Before heading the Labor Department, McLaughlin holds public relations positions at the Environmental Protection Agency and the Treasury Department. Being only the second female secretary of labor, McLaughlin is "aware of the challenges" facing her. She devotes her tenure to addressing work-life balance issues as well as promoting economic growth as a means of improving working conditions.
