INCREASE IN NUMBER OF DAYS OF ACTIVE DUTY REQUIRED TO BE PERFORMED BY RESERVE COMPONENT MEMBERS FOR DUTY TO BE CONSIDERED FEDERAL S ERVICE FOR PURPOSES OF UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION FOR EX -SERVICEMEMBERS. a INCREASE OF NUMBER OF DAYS. Section 8521 a 1 of title 5 United States Code is amended by striking 90 days in the matter preceding subparagraph A and inserting 180 days . b EFFECTIVE DATE. The amendment made by subsection a shall take effect on the date of the enactment of this Act and shall apply with respect to periods of Federal service commencing on or after that date. SEC. 560. PROHIBITION ON RECEIPT OF UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE WHILE RECEIVING POST -9 11 EDUCATION ASSISTANCE. a EFFECT OF RECEIPT OF POST-9 11 EDUCATION ASSISTANCE.
