These activities include 1 conducting a two-day youth summit to involve y outh in establishing strateg ies for linking youth to the One-Stop sy stem 2 conducting a two-day youth servi ce provider summit to build a collective ag enda for serving youth marketing and conducting outreach including the devel opment and distribution of marketing materials and an inter active W eb site and 3 convening a task force of businesses educators and service providers to determine services that can be linked electronically to schools and a gencies. The project ex pands an ex isting multi-phase planning effort launched by the local Youth Council initially focused on only those y outh who are elig ible under Title I -B of the W orkforce I nvestment Act to a broader c ounty -wide strateg y to meet the employ ability education and developmental needs of Snohomish County youth. Activities will include updating the MATCHES employ er da tabase identify ing sy stem-wid e models that foster y outh transition and provide housing support improving referral protocols and providing ong oing cross-training of Youth C ouncil members and W orkSource Snohomish County partners. The well-established Y outh Council reg ularly invites y outh input during meeting s and has alread y held y outh forums to identify service g aps and how to fill them. The g rant will enable a strateg ic planning committee to conduct more str uctured sur veys to ide ntif y the inte rests a nd needs of y outh and assess the ne eds inte rests of employ ers and other stakeholders. They will then hold public planning meeting s to review the survey finding s and g enerate ideas. B ased on a ll this information a y outh advisory group will help determine how to make a future Youth One-Stop a success a nd to integ rate y outh related products into ex isting One-Stops. 6
