Catholic Relief Services awarded $13M to provide job trainingto at-risk youth in El Salvador and Honduras

Purpose: Implement a project to help at-risk youth in El Salvador and Honduras develop market-relevant skills and secure good employment.

Location: El Salvador and Honduras

Scope: The four-year project, called Youth Pathways-Central America, will provide training and employment services to approximately 5,100 low-income youth, ages 14 to 20, who reside in areas with high rates of violence and are at risk of becoming engaged in the worst forms of child labor. The project includes training services for approximately 1,900 of the youths' family members, as well as specialized services for returned migrant youth, including job training, links to social services, and provision of emergency shelter. The project will build partnerships with private sector stakeholders to promote youth employment, and support government and community organizations to develop effective job training models for at-risk youth.
