U.S. Department of Labor Launches New Website To Offer Training Provider Performance and Outcomes

WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Department of Labor today announced the launch of a new website, TrainingProviderResults.gov, which provides key outcome data such as training completion, credential attainment, employment and wages associated with training programs funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

Administered by the Department’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA), this site allow job seekers to explore training program outcomes and compare results of state-approved training providers at a program of study level – in their area, nationally and across similar fields of study – to make more informed education and training decisions prior to beginning any training program.

TrainingProviderResults.Gov allows job seekers to search and compare available career-training options offered through the public workforce system. The site presents official data in a dynamic and accessible way to help the public – including participants of workforce programs – locate the training program that best meets their needs and is responsive to job availability in their region. The site features program participants’ state-reported outcomes and other useful information about programs, including cost and location.

States, employers and policymakers can use the site to compare local training providers and programs to ensure that local training providers meet industry needs and are delivering a valuable return-on-investment. The site aligns with the President’s Council for the American Worker and the Administration’s ongoing work to modernize the Department of Education’s College Scorecard and expand U.S. Census research on Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes. TrainingProviderResults.Gov also champions effective, results-driven education and training to help American students and workers obtain the skills needed to succeed in the jobs of today and of the future.

“TrainingProviderResults.gov enables the U.S. Department of Labor to increase data transparency and accountability to help job seekers, career counselors, employers, training providers and policy leaders make informed decisions about training programs that match local labor market needs. It also leverages the data that the Department collects from the state workforce system about providers to create a tool that can be used by participants of all workforce programs, community stakeholders and those interested in career training,” said Assistant Secretary for Employment and Training John Pallasch. “The site serves as a resource to help job seekers wade through the plethora of training options and target their job search and ensure the training they are receiving is effective and in demand in their local market.”

TrainingProviderResults.gov adds value to the existing suite of online career tools supported by the Department, including www.CareerOneStop.org and www.MyNextMove.org.
