US Labor Department, Missouri Department of Insurance to offer free health benefits law compliance seminar June 13-14 in St. Louis

Event will help area employers, administrators and insurers

CHICAGO – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration and the Missouri Department of Insurance will host a two-day health benefits laws compliance seminar for small- and mid-sized employers, third-party administrators and insurers in the St. Louis area. The seminar is designed to provide practical information, helpful tips, and clarification regarding federal and state laws. The free event is open to the public and the media, and interested parties are encouraged to register early.

Who: Presenters from the U.S. Department of Labor, Missouri Department of Insurance and Internal Revenue Service

What: Compliance with the Affordable Care Act, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (known as COBRA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (known as HIPAA), the fiduciary responsibility provisions in the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and other health benefits laws

When: Wednesday, June 13, and Thursday, June 14, 9 a.m.-4:45 p.m. CDT
