Philadelphia Outreach to Help Workers with Retirement Planning to Be Held November 15 and 16

Experts on hand from U.S. Labor Department, IRS, Social Security and DHHS

Philadelphia - “Why Go Broke? – Retirement Planning for the 21st Century Worker” will take place November 15 and 16 to give Philadelphia-area workers and families the opportunity to discuss retirement-related questions with federal government experts and plan for a secure retirement.

On November 15, a call-in hotline at 215.861.5300 will be staffed by experts from the U.S. Labor Department’s Employee Benefits Security Administration, the Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration and Department of Health and Human Services. Call the hotline between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for answers to questions about private-sector retirement benefits, Social Security, Medicare Part D and retirement taxes issues.

For more hands-on assistance with retirement issues, plan to attend the Retirement Information Fair on November 16 at Bodek Lounge, Houston Hall at the University of Pennsylvania, 3417 Spruce Street. The fair will begin at 11 a.m. and will feature workshop presentations and useful material.

The federal agencies are joining together to conduct public outreach in recognition of National Retirement Planning Week, November 13-17.
