U.S. Department of Labor’s ERISA Advisory Council Working Groups to Hold Teleconferences October 20

Washington, DC - The three working groups of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act

(ERISA) Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans will convene by teleconference October 20 to discuss reports and recommendations to be submitted to the Secretary of Labor.

The teleconference will be conducted at the U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C., Room N4437A.

Working group meetings will be held 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and begin with the meeting of the Working Group on Plan Asset Rules, Exemptions and Cross Trading, followed by the Working Group on a Procedurally Prudent Investment Process. The final meeting will be the Working Group on Health Information Technology.

All meetings of the working group are open to the public, who may submit comments by October 13 to Larry Good, the council’s executive secretary. Questions about the meetings or requests to address the ERISA Advisory Council should be directed to Good at 202.693.8668.

The ERISA Advisory Council consists of 15 members, appointed to staggered three-year terms by the Secretary of Labor to provide advice on policies and regulations affecting employee benefit plans sponsored by private-sector employers. The members represent the general public, employers, employee organizations and the fields of insurance, corporate trust, investment management, investment counseling, accounting and actuarial counseling.
