Basking in the vibes of a Good Jobs Summer

Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su joined Rep. Maxwell Frost, labor leaders and workers in Florida last week, where they emphasized the importance of protecting workers against heat hazards. In meetings with farm workers and local union construction workers, they discussed the department’s proposed heat rule and how it would impact their lives.

In Wisconsin, Acting Secretary Su and Assistant Secretary for Mine Safety and Health Chris Williamson met with union mine workers, building trades leaders, mine operators, contractors and workforce training experts. They joined mine workers in Franklin and building workers in Milwaukee, and discussed how federal investments and policies are making a difference to workers and their families.

During Labor Rights Week, Aug. 26-30, 2024, we’ll be working with our partners to share the message that ALL workers in the United States have labor rights. Help us spread the word on workers’ rights in your community.

To recognize its 60th birthday, Job Corps leaders gathered students, teachers and alumni in Washington, D.C. to celebrate the program’s success in preparing more than 3 million students for a brighter future.
