Cultivating Change: Confronting Labor Trafficking in the Southeast Agriculture Industry

In honor of January's National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, please join the Wage and Hour Division's Southeast Region for our third annual discussion with federal, state, and nonprofit organizations on labor trafficking in the agriculture industry. This year's event follows a multi-agency investigation that found a South Carolina farm labor contractor and its operators subjected migrant farmworkers to exploitative labor, confiscated passports and housed workers in unsafe and unhealthy conditions. During the event, representatives from federal, state, and nonprofit organizations will share their experiences combating labor trafficking in the agriculture industry. Participation is free, but registration is required. Contact Rachel Mast-Matos if you have questions, mast-matos.rachel@dol.gov.
