HVRP National Targets and Outcomes
Program Year (PY) 2024 – July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025
VETS awarded over $57 million to 32 new and 123 continuation HVRP grants that served 15,888 participants during PY24. 64 percent of HVRP exiters were placed into employment with an average hourly wage of $19.49. In the second quarter after exit, the HVRP employment rate was 43 percent and median earnings were $8,710.
The Jobs for Veterans State Grants (JVSG) program staff help HVRP grant participants achieve job placement and retention goals by providing workforce system resources. In PY24, grant recipients reported 12,116 HVRP participants (76 percent) were co-enrolled in various programs offered at American Job Centers (AJCs).
Each year, VETS uses a small portion of HVRP funds to support grant recipient Stand Down events. These events, held in local communities, provide a variety of social services to homeless veterans, and serve as gateways into structured housing and reintegration programs. In Fiscal Year (FY) 2025, VETS awarded $267,000 for 30 Stand Down events.
