Notice of Termination of Investigation
Pursuant to Section 221 of the Trade Act of 1974, an inves-
tigation was initiated on May 14, 2001, in response to a petition
which was filed by the company official on behalf of workers at
Phoenix Mills, Inc., Concord, North Carolina.
The Phoenix Mills plant has closed. Numerous attempts have
been made by mail and telephone to obtain from the company
official the information necessary to issue a determination
regarding worker eligibility to apply for TAA. The company
official's failure to respond to the Department's requests
demonstrates the desire to withdraw the application. Therefore,
further investigation in this case would serve no purpose, and
the investigation has been terminated.
