Jessie Jane Duff serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy at the U.S. Department of Labor’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service, where she helps shape national policies supporting military veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses. Her leadership contributes to the Department’s mission of equipping those who have served with the tools for long-term civilian career success.

With over 25 years of experience in national defense, intelligence consulting, and workforce development, Ms. Duff has built her career around supporting service members during and after their military service. Her expertise includes workforce readiness, employment policy, talent acquisition, retention strategies and human capital planning.

Ms. Duff is a retired Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and served with distinction on active duty for 20 years. During her military career, she held numerous leadership and operational roles, earning commendations for her exemplary service. Her experience in the Marine Corps not only shaped her strategic perspective but also deepened her commitment to public service and to serving those who wore the uniform.

Prior to her appointment to the Department of Labor under the Trump Administration, she worked as a consultant and recruiter, advising Fortune 500 companies and government contractors on how to effectively identify, recruit, and retain top-tier talent. Additionally, she helped bridge the gap between military service and private-sector employment. A recognized public speaker on veterans' issues, national security, and workforce development, Ms. Duff holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
