
Andrew D. Auerbach, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Operations and Management at the U.S. Department of Labor, Veterans’ Employment and Training Service. In this role DAS Auerbach oversees internal operations, grant management, and administrative support to advance employment opportunities for transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses. He directs budget execution, policy implementation, and staff functions to support veteran career readiness.
Prior to joining the Veterans’ Employment and Training Service in January 2026, Mr. Auerbach served as Deputy Director of the Office of Labor‑Management Standards for approximately 20 years, overseeing OLMS programs and operations nationwide. He joined the Department of Labor’s Office of the Solicitor in 1998 as an attorney, later serving as Counsel and as Deputy Associate Solicitor for Civil Rights and Labor‑Management. Earlier, he litigated freedom‑of‑speech issues for a public interest organization and thereafter spent three years as a Maryland Assistant Attorney General. He holds a J.D. with honors from the University of Maryland School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from American University.
