Information on Bill Processing for the Federal Black Lung Program

As of April 27, 2020, the Division of Coal Mine Workers' Compensation (DCMWC) contracted with Acentra Health (formerly CNSI) to handle all medical bill processing.

Medical Providers access the system at https://owcpmed.dol.gov to:

Check Eligibility - Learn if a patient is covered for a particular procedure. Providers may print a denial letter if the service is not covered by the Federal Black Lung Program.

Check Bill Payment - Learn status of submitted bills. Providers can view Remittance Vouchers (RVs).

Conduent continues to provide OWCP pharmacy bill processing services and is utilizing a new web address URL (https://owcprx.dol.gov) and new mailing address. See below.

GENERAL INQUIRIES:

Telephone:  1-800-638-7072 - NOTE: This is the main medical billing call center for general questions regarding bill status, payment status, information on Remittance Vouchers (RVs), and eligibility inquiries.

Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (EST.)

IMPORTANT: 

Please be sure to include the Case ID on every page you mail/email/fax to OWCP.

COMPLEX INQUIRIES:

For complex medical billing inquiries, appeals, or any issue that cannot be resolved by contacting the Call Center, above, include the following information:

• Claimant's name
• Case ID
• Date of service
• Total bill amount
• Provider name
• Point of contact name and telephone number

For pharmacy billing inquiries, include:

• Claimant's name
• Case ID
• Medication name
• National drug code
• Date dispensed
• Pharmacy name
• Point of contact name and telephone number

For transplant inquiries, include:

• Claimant's name
• Case ID
• Transplant facility name
• Transplant facility point of contact name and telephone number
