REPORT

This study seeks to understand, from a gender perspective, the ways that families' living conditions, the labor trajectories of adults, and the gendered division of labor in households influence the relationship to work formed by boys, girls, and adolescents (niños, niñas, y adolescentes (NNyA)), as well as  expectations regarding their future job opportunities.
This study employs a critical analysis approach to child labor (TI) that recognizes that the social relations generated in certain contexts determine, on the one hand, how childhood is defined, and on the other, the conditions and perceptions about it.
These dynamics are analyzed using case studies of households in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires in 2020, the first full year of the COVID-19 pandemic and a year in which the economy and employment were in crisis.
