REPORT

This assessment of the Labor Inspectorate was conducted to contribute to a better understanding of the legislative, social and administrative environment in which Inspectors and Controllers function and the challenges they face in their day-to-day work. This document includes an overview of sectors in which child labor is most prevalent, an overview of the legal and policy framework relevant to addressing child labor, information on different actors' activities to address child labor,  as well as an overview of the labor inspectorate. Based on information gathered from desk research and interviews with key stakeholders, this assessment then formulates recommendations on how the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the Department to Combat Child Labor (DLTE) and the regional labor offices can improve their effectiveness and efficiency in combatting child labor.
