Change in DFEC Case Jurisdiction (NEW)

In a continued effort to improve overall service to claimants and Federal employing agencies, the Division of Federal Employees' Compensation (DFEC) will again shift the jurisdictions of the Washington, DC and Philadelphia, PA district offices.

Effective August 22, 2016, the Philadelphia, PA district office will begin adjudicating all new claims created for claimants residing within all zip codes of Maryland. The Washington, DC district office will continue to have jurisdiction of new and existing cases when the claimant's residence is within the District of Columbia and Virginia.

Effective October 1, 2016, jurisdiction for existing claims for all zip codes in Maryland will be transferred to the Philadelphia, PA district office. Additional information regarding the jurisdictional change will be sent directly to those impacted. The corresponding information on the DFEC contacts page has been updated to reflect the above changes.
