Dan LaFond

Daniel LaFond serves as the Regional Director for the Central Region. The OLMS regional director is responsible for leading a nationwide criminal and civil enforcement program within a broad geographic area.  The regional director formulates annual regional program, budgetary, and administrative operations plans, and monitors and evaluates the program work conducted in three field offices throughout the regional jurisdiction on an ongoing basis.  Mr. LaFond also served as the director of the Milwaukee District Office from December 2010 to October 2013.  Mr. LaFond began his career with OLMS as an investigator in 1989.  He served as a senior investigator in 2003 and as supervisory investigator from 2004 until 2010.  Since 2001, he has served as a lead instructor for the Compliance Audit Program (CAP) new investigator training course.  Mr. LaFond has received the Secretary’s Exceptional Achievement Award four times: for work on a Regulatory Revision Team (2004), development and presentation of a new investigator training program (2005), leadership of a specially constituted civil enforcement team (2011), and work on the Electronic Forms System Project Team (2012).  In addition, in 2007, he received a Special Act Award for his work involving auditing and special reports.  Mr. LaFond has led two workgroups tasked with analyzing public reporting data and is currently a member of a nationwide criminal enforcement workgroup. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Law Studies from Marquette University.
