Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC)

The Site Exposure Matrices (SEM) website has been updated! This update makes the website current through November 15, 2021.  New information is now available for 12 DOE sites including significant additions to Construction (all sites), Nevada Test Site, Pantex Plant, and Y-12 Plant.

DOL received 12 public submittals related to toxic substances and disease inputs since the last update on May 16, 2021.  Two (2) of those submittals resulted in revisions of the SEM profile(s) for Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant and Y-12 Plant, and one (1) submittal resulted in a resource document addition to the SEM library.

Information provided by the DOL District Offices is also being used to update SEM.  Changes were made to the SEM profiles of the following five (5) DOE sites: Idaho National Laboratory, Nevada Test Site, Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant, Pantex Plant, and the Y-12 Plant.

During the past six months, DOL completed its multi-year updating of 23 SEM profiles for DOE sites with DOE Comprehensive Epidemiologic Data Resource (CEDR) labor category information.  The updates on Hanford/Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Mallinckrodt-Destrehan Street were completed since the May 16, 2021 SEM website update; these were the last two sites updated with CEDR information.

Since the SEM first became available to the public in March 2010, there have been 22 revisions of the SEM website.  Prior to the release of each new version, the US Department of Energy (DOE) reviews the new and revised information to ensure that no classification issues exist.
