Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC)
Shiprock, NM Outreach! – On December 9 and 10, 2014, staff from the DEEOIC Denver District Office and Epanola resource center, along with representatives from the Department of Justice (DOJ), conducted a Navajo Outreach Event on the Shiprock Reservation in Shiprock, New Mexico. During the 2-day period, the district office staff responded to a variety of questions pertaining to different aspects of the EEOICPA. The district office staff gave two presentations consisting of a program overview and medical/home health care benefits overview. DOJ gave an overview of RECA Sections 4 and 5 and benefits available under RECA. Translation services were provided. The December 9th meeting drew 124 visitors and the meeting on December 10th drew 95 visitors.
