Below is a list of voluntary compliance agreements entered into in 2026.


On January 29, 2026, OLMS entered into a voluntary compliance agreement with Communications Workers of America (CWA) Local 7777 (located in Lakewood, Colo.) concerning the November 10, 2023 election of officers. The union agreed to conduct its next regularly scheduled officer election under OLMS supervision by November 30, 2026. The investigation revealed a candidate used a campaign logo, with his slate’s name and a QR code linking to the slate’s website, as his avatar on the employer’s Microsoft Teams platform, in violation of Section 401(g) of the LMRDA. The agreement follows an investigation by the OLMS Denver-St. Louis District Office.

On January 13, 2026, OLMS entered into a voluntary compliance agreement with Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 26 (located in Detroit, Mich.) concerning the union’s June 6, 2025 election of officers. The union agreed to conduct new nominations, a new election, and installation for the offices of president/business agent, vice president, financial secretary/treasurer, recording secretary, sergeant-at-arms, Coolidge board member, Coolidge steward, Gilbert board member, Gilbert steward, Shoemaker board member, Shoemaker steward, M1 Rail board member, M1 Rail steward, MV Transportation board member, Lenawee LISD board member, and Lenawee LISD. The investigation revealed that ineligible candidates were allowed to run for office, the local failed to mail all members an election notice, eligible members were denied the right to vote, ineligible members voted in the election, and candidates campaigned on employer/union time to members who were on employer time, in violation of Sections 401(c), 401(e), and 401(g). The agreement follows an investigation by the OLMS Detroit-Milwaukee District Office.

On January 9, 2026, OLMS entered into a voluntary compliance agreement with American Postal Workers Union (APWU) Local 232 (located in Reynoldsburg, Ohio) concerning the union’s August 12, 2025 election of officers. The union agreed to conduct new nominations and an election for the offices of president, vice president, and secretary-treasurer under OLMS supervision by April 24, 2026. The investigation revealed that the members’ names and addresses were printed on the back of the ballots, in violation of Section 401(b) of the LMRDA. The agreement follows an investigation by the OLMS Cincinnati-Cleveland District Office.
