Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC)

Authorized Representative Workshop: Kennewick, Washington

Authorized representatives residing in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, Nevada, Hawaii, Alaska, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, and South Dakota, are invited to attend the Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation’s (DEEOIC) second Authorized Representative Workshop being held May 15 and 16, 2018, at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick, Washington.

The workshop is a two-day event for authorized representatives and attorneys who represent claimants under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA). During the two-day workshop, U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) staff, as well as representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Offices of the Ombudsman to NIOSH and DOL will present information on their roles in the Program. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to attend several half-hour to one-hour long sessions on a variety of specific topics.

Space is limited and reservations will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. To save your seat, you must call the Hanford Resource Center at (888) 654-0014 no later than May 1, 2018.

There is no cost to attend the workshop; however, all attendees will be responsible for their own meals, transportation, and hotel reservations. Workshop attendance is extended to representatives and attorneys residing in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, Nevada, Hawaii, Alaska, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Should space remain, invitations will be extended to those outside of this area. In the future, DEEOIC plans to sponsor additional workshops across the country for those authorized representatives and attorneys residing in other areas. While this particular set of workshops is intended only for authorized representatives and attorneys, DOL and its partner agencies will continue to hold outreach meetings throughout the year for the general public.
