Outreach in New Mexico! – The Joint Outreach Task Group (JOTG), of which DEEOIC is a member, held an Open House-Traveling Resource Center on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at The Lodge at Santa Fe, 750 N. St. Francis Drive, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Representatives from DEEOIC, the Office of the Ombudsman for the EEOICP, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), the Ombudsman to NIOSH, and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), gave brief presentations about EEOICPA and answered questions. Representatives from DOE’s Former Worker Medical Screening Program provided information on their free medical screening program. Staff members from the Seattle District Office and the Espanola Resource Center (RC), helped host the event. Staff members were available following the presentations, to assist individuals in filing new claims and provide claim status updates. The event attracted 80 people. Five (5) new claims were received; 13 status checks were conducted; and several people requested RC contact information to follow up at a later date.
