Assistance available for nuclear weapons workers in Albany, Oregon
US Labor Department will provide information. Claims assistance
Event: The U.S. Department of Labor will host an outreach event for current and former nuclear weapons workers in Albany, Oregon, on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016. At the meeting, federal representatives will present information about the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act and the program’s available medical benefits. Covered facilities in Oregon include the Albany Research Center and Wah Chang in Albany and the Uranium Mill and Disposal Cell in Lakeview.
The EEOICPA provides compensation and medical benefits to current and former employees whose work in the nuclear weapons industry made them ill. Survivors of qualified workers may also be entitled to benefits.
After the presentation, Seattle District Office and Hanford Resource Center staff will be available to help individuals file new claims and provide claimants with status updates on their existing claims.

To date, $131.8 million in EEOICPA compensation and medical benefits has been paid to 1,187 Oregon claimants and more than $12.7 billion has been paid nationwide.
