The Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs’ (OWCP’s) Division of Coal Mine Workers’ Compensation (DCMWC) is issuing claimants a new Medical Benefits Identification Card (MBIC) as well as a new pharmacy benefits card. These new cards will be mailed to you.
Once you receive your new MBIC, please begin using it immediately for all authorized medical services. Your previous card should be destroyed after you receive the new one. This update will not affect any of the medical services you currently receive.
As part of this update, you will also receive a separate pharmacy card in the mail from DCMWC’s new Pharmacy Benefits Administrator (PBA), Optum. Once you receive your new pharmacy card, please begin using it immediately for prescription drugs at your pharmacy. This will not affect any of the prescription medications you currently receive.
