Visitor Information

Yes, you can visit the Wirtz Labor Library.

The Wirtz Labor Library is open to the public, but due to security restrictions, the stacks are only accessible to the Library staff. If you require material for research please contact the library 24 hours prior to your visit so that the material is available and ready for your review.

When visiting the Department of Labor:

  • Visitor Entrance located at 3rd & C Streets NW.
  • Visitors must pass through security screening before gaining access to the building. Laptops and other electronic devices may be inspected and logged for identification purposes.
  • You must present a valid photo ID to receive a visitor badge issued by the security officer.
  • You must know the name of the person or organization, or the event you are attending. The library is located in N-2445, phone number 202-693-6600.
