Building Tomorrow’s Workforce: Fostering Female Talent in Youth Apprenticeship

In celebration of Youth Apprenticeship Week, join the Women’s Bureau’s Midwest Region for an engaging virtual dialogue focused on empowering young women to embrace apprenticeship programs and explore exciting career pathways in the trades and nontraditional occupations. Participants will gain insights into strategies and explore invaluable resources for encouraging female participation in youth apprenticeship programs through a diverse panel of guest speakers and a presentation on the Women’s Bureau’s Equity Module Toolkit and Department of Labor grants.

Announcement of a New Data Sharing Partnership Between the U.S. Department of Treasury’s (Treasury) Bureau of the Fiscal Service (Fiscal Service) and the National Association of State Workforce Agencies’ (NASWA) Unemployment Insurance (UI) Integrity Center to provide State UI Agencies Access to Do Not Pay Working System (DNP) Data Sources and Services through the UI Integrity Data Hub (IDH)

Purpose

To announce the new data sharing partnership between Treasury’s Fiscal Service and NASWA’s UI Integrity Center to make DNP data sources and services available to the IDH to further support states in preventing and detecting improper payments and strengthening UI program integrity. This Training and Employment Notice (TEN) also announces an updated IDH Participation Agreement (PA) – Version 6.0, which states must execute to access DNP data sources and services through the IDH.

Announcing an Extension of Period of Time that Funding will be Available to Cover Transaction Costs and Announcing the Establishment of a Deadline for States to Enter into Data Sharing Agreements (DSAs) for the National Identity Verification Offering (NIDVO) Established in Unemployment Insurance Program Letter (UIPL) No. 11-23

Purpose

To advise states that funding is expected to be available to cover transaction costs for a period of at least the two years after the date the state deploys NIDVO or two years after the date this UIPL is issued, whichever is later. In addition, this UIPL advises states that they must enter into a DSA with the U.S. Department of Labor (Department) by June 28, 2024 to participate in NIDVO with transaction costs covered by the Department.

Announcing the Publication of the Final Rule, Improving Protections for Workers in Temporary Agricultural Employment in the United States

Purpose

To announce the publication of the final rule on Improving Protections for Workers in Temporary Agricultural Employment in the United States (Farmworker Protection Rule), which makes changes to the regulations regarding the Wagner-Peyser Act Employment Service (ES), in addition to changes to the regulations governing the H-2A temporary nonimmigrant agricultural worker visa program at 20 CFR 655, subpart B, and 29 CFR 501. This Training and Employment Notice (TEN) describes revisions to the ES regulations at 20 CFR parts 651, 653, and 658, which relate to the Agricultural Recruitment System (ARS) and the situations where State Workforce Agencies (SWA) discontinue providing ES services to employers.
