To announce the availability of funding for States to send state UI appellate staff to the 2018 UI Appellate Professionals Training Conference scheduled to be held June 17-21, 2018, in Annapolis, Maryland.

To share the interagency support for ensuring students and parents have relevant and timely information to make informed career decisions. This notice is meant to encourage continued coordination and collaboration across the public workforce, adult basic education, career and technical education, and human and social service systems to prepare students for education and career paths.

This Training and Employment Guidance Letter (TEGL) provides current SCSEP state, territorial, and national grantees with the application instructions, allocations, and the process and procedures for the PY 2018 grant submission.

To assist State Workforce Agencies (SWAs) or agencies designated by Governors as "Cooperating State Agencies" (CSAs) (also jointly referred to as "States," "Recipients," "Grantees," "Applicant," or "You") gain access to FY 2018 TAA Program TaOA funds by completing and submitting Standard Form (SF) 424, Application for Federal Assistance, through www.grants.gov.

To inform workforce system stakeholders of additional technical assistance options related to the Section 1512 Reporting Requirements in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

To transmit the Employment and Training Administration’s (ETA) communication plan for designation and notification of:

• Significant MSFW States;
• Significant MSFW One-Stop Centers; and
• Significant Multilingual MSFW One-Stop Centers.

To provide guidance to states on best practices for payment of unemployment compensation by debit cards.

To provide program guidance for the development, management, and delivery of workforce and labor market information (WLMI) funded through the WIGS.

To notify state workforce agencies of the availability of Fiscal Year (FY) 2009 UI funds for automation acquisitions that will allow states to implement technological improvements to better serve UI beneficiaries and employers, to accommodate large fluctuations in UI workloads, and/or to improve program integrity and/or performance.

To assist State Workforce Agencies or agencies designated by Governors as “Cooperating State Agencies” (CSAs) (also jointly referred to as "states") by identifying the FY 2018 Initial Allocation of TaOA funding amounts to states; describing the formula methodology used by the Department of Labor (Department) to calculate these amounts; and providing the process for states to request TAA Program reserve funds for TaOA. TaOA includes training, job search allowances, relocation allowances, employment and case management services, and related state administration.
