To provide additional information about planned consultations for the development of Workforce Investment Act (WIA)/Wagner-Peyser Act State Planning Guidances for the Program Year (PY) 2010-2015 Five-Year Planning Cycle.

To notify State Workforce Agencies (SWAs) that FTP will be removed from the states’ Sun® systems on October 1, 2008, and recommend secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) tools.

To announce a revised method for determining recipients of the UI State Performance Excellence Awards

To inform State Workforce Agencies (SWAs) of advance funding for EUC08 workloads and the opportunity to submit a supplemental budget request (SBR) for funding of EUC08 implementation costs.

To provide updated information to the workforce investment system, and particularly the One-Stop Career Centers, on the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 and the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Acts of 2003 and 2005, and guidance on how the One-Stop delivery system can provide assistance to trafficking victims under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998.

Announcement of the latest round of workforce solutions from the HGJTI and CBJTGs on the Workforce³One.org Web site.

To provide states with instructions for implementing and operating the Emergency Unemployment Compensation, 2008 (EUC08) program, including fiscal and reporting instructions.

To respond to questions from states concerning eligibility determinations related to Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA).

• To provide preliminary FY 2009 dollar and staff year base resource planning targets for UI operations to be used in planning and developing State Quality Service Plans;

To transmit the subject computation for State Workforce Agency usage in computing minimum weekly DUA amounts for all major disasters declared during the fourth quarter of Fiscal Year (FY) 2008.
