A Ready Resource for Staff Training: Strategies for Disability Inclusion
One of the best strategies for fostering an inclusive workplace culture is staff training for businesses large and small. This can be particularly important for human resources professionals, hiring managers, and others tasked with building Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) initiatives fully inclusive of all workers and job seekers, including those with disabilities.
To support these professionals, the ODEP-funded Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability Inclusion (EARN) launched a free series of eight online training courses—seven addressing the different components of its employer policy framework, Inclusion@Work, and one on centralized accommodation programs. The courses include:
- Lead the Way: Inclusive Business Culture
- Build the Pipeline: Outreach and Recruitment
- Hire (& Keep) the Best: Talent Acquisition & Retention Processes
- Ensure Productivity: Reasonable Accommodations
- Communicate: External & Internal Communication of Company Policies and Practices
- Be Tech Savvy: Accessible Information & Communication Technology
- Measure Success: Accountability & Self-identification
- Centralized Accommodation as a Best Practice
Each course takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete and includes a quiz at the end. Convenient and easy to access, employers can use the courses to learn and enhance their knowledge about disability inclusion or share them with staff. To learn more, visit EARN’s training courses.
