OSHA, Waubonsee Community College sponsor worker safety, health conference on March 16, in Sugar Grove, Illinois

What: OSHA Safety Day Training Conference

When: Wednesday, March 16, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. CDT

Where: Waubonsee Community College
Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive
Sugar Grove, IL

Background: About 300 employees and managers are expected to attend the event, representing a broad range of Illinois industries, including manufacturing, health care, education and retail.

Over 20 information sessions covering safety issues such as: industrial hygiene fundamentals, machine safeguarding, risk assessment, safety and health management systems and fighting fatigue will be offered.

This year’s conference will feature an informational session titled: “Reducing Your Risk: How to Keep Temporary Workers Safe.”

The department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s office in Aurora and Waubonsee Community College are co-sponsoring the forum.

“The 2016 Safety Day Training Conference is a great opportunity to help small businesses prevent job injuries and protect their workers,” said Jacob Scott, OSHA area director in Aurora.

The conference fee is $99 per person, which includes the conference, handouts, continental breakfast and lunch.
