To advise the States of amendments made to Federal law by the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 which affect the Federal-State Unemployment Compensation (UC) program.

To provide State Employment Security Agencies with instructions for using the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) to code industry data elements and the 1998 Standard Occupation Classification (SOC) / Occupational Information Network (O*NET) to code occupation data elements in the BAM DCI.

To advise State Employment Security Agencies (SESAs) of decisions with regard to issues and concerns associated with remote claimstaking as they impact the reporting and use of claims data and the Interstate Statistical Data Exchange.

To respond to inquiries from State Workforce Agencies (SWAs) and provide them with information about the Department of Defense (DOD) National Call to Service program that became effective October 1, 2003.

To provide State Workforce Agencies (SWAs) with additional information and documents to complete the project to exchange data with the Social Security Administration (SSA).

To advise State agencies of the provisions of the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Improvement Act of 1999, P.L. 106-170, which affect the Federal-State Unemployment Compensation (UC) program.

To advise State Workforce Agencies (SWAs) that the required operational date for the new ICON-IB6, Release 2 software, which is used for processing quarterly bills for unemployment claims that combine wages from two or more states, has been changed from the billing cycle for the quarter ending March 31, 2004, to the billing cycle for the quarter ending June 30, 2004.

To provide Model State Legislation and Commentary for States implementing BAA-UC. The Model State Legislation is offered as a guide for States that need to amend their current UC laws, it is not required. The Commentary provides information on the Model State Legislation and will aid States in making policy decisions.

To advise State unemployment compensation (UC) agencies of problems with some employer addresses provided to State and National directories and to encourage the UC agencies to work with State and Federal child support enforcement (CSE) agencies to resolve the problems.

To update examples of employment situations requiring uniform interpretation of localization of work provisions in state laws and to revise and reissue the Interpretation of Localization of Work Provisions.
