Department of Labor’s (DOL) Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) administers programs designed to address the employment, training, and job security needs of over 200,000 military service members who transition to civilian life each year.

The Transition Assistance Program (TAP), provided under 10 U.S.C. 1144 (govinfo.gov), is a cooperative interagency effort among the Department of Labor, and the Departments of Defense, Education, Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs, the Small Business Administration and the Office of Personnel Management.

DOL’s portion of TAP provides information, tools, and training aimed to help transitioning service members and their spouses establish positive employment outcomes following their military careers.

The VETS Resource Guide (PDF) contains links to access many online resources discussed in our workshops as well as other important resources for veterans, transitioning service members, military spouses, and caregivers.

Upcoming TAP classes are listed for all service components and locations at Transition Assistance Program (tapevents.mil).
