Introduction
In accordance with Annual Employee Survey (AES) regulations (5 CFR Part 250; Subpart C - Employee Surveys), the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) posts annual Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) results and this brief summary highlighting our employee engagement data and strategic approach.
The Office of Personnel Management Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (OPM FEVS) is an organizational climate survey and assesses how employees jointly experience the policies, practices, and procedures characteristic of their agency and its leadership. The survey tracks how federal employees view their current work environment, including management and new initiatives; and assists agencies to hire and support the skilled workforce needed to serve the American people.
FEVS data is essential for understanding the strengths, challenges, and opportunities our organization faces in driving workplace improvements across the Department. New in 2023 – Employee Experience Index (EXI) measures the extent to which employees are engaged by their work and their organization.
Engagement@Labor
We value employee feedback at DOL and strive to empower all workers morning, noon, and night in order to maximize organizational effectiveness. In partnership with DOL's FEVS/Engagement Community of Practice, Employee Affinity Groups, the Equity@DOL Council, and Unions, the Division of Worklife and Engagement within the Office of Human Resources works with DOL leaders to communicate, review, and analyze FEVS results to: identify DOL's strengths and challenges; implement meaningful employee engagement actions based on data and evidence; and further improve employee engagement, DEIA, and employee development opportunities across the Department.
