- Pathway Home - Pathway Home grants serve adults (18+) currently incarcerated in a state correctional facility or local or county jail with pre-release reentry services that continue post-release, which improves employment outcomes for individuals returning to the community after incarceration.

- Growth Opportunities (GO) – This program supports youth (15-18 year olds) and young adults (18-24 year olds) who have been involved in the criminal justice system or are at risk of becoming involved in the criminal justice system, by providing education and training, at least 200 hours of paid work experience, mentorship, and leadership development.

- Partners for Reentry Opportunities in Workforce Development (PROWD) – PROWD is a collaborative partnership between the Department of Justice (DOJ) Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and the Department of Labor (DOL) that provides targeted workforce training, employment, supportive, and follow-up services to federally incarcerated adults (18+) in three stages – whereby Stage 1 takes place in a Federal Corrections Institution (FCI), Stage 2 takes place in a residential reentry center (RRC) or on Home Confinement, and Stage 3 takes place in the community after participants are released from BOP supervision.

Previous Grant Initiatives
- Fidelity Bonding Demonstration Grants - Enabled states to expand their use of fidelity bonds to help persons with criminal records and/or opioid and other addictions with employment opportunities. (Ended April 2025)
- Young Adult Reentry Partnership (YARP) - Focused on helping reentry-serving intermediary organizations establish partnerships with community colleges and providing young adults ages 18 to 24 involved in the justice system with training and educational programs leading to industry-recognized credentials, employment, apprenticeships and other opportunities in growth industries. (Ended December 2024)
- Reentry Projects (RP) - These grants sought to enhance both adult (25+) and young adult (18-24) reentry strategies by providing the opportunity for organizations to build customized projects using evidence-based and evidence-informed interventions, new interventions that theory or research suggested are promising (i.e. promising practices), or a combination of both that lead to increased employment outcomes. (Ended September 2022)
- Training to Work Grants - This program provided training in high-demand industries that lead to industry recognized credentials for adults residing in residential reentry centers (RRCs) also known as “halfway houses”. (Ended September 2019)
- Pathways to Justice Careers for Youth Grants - These grants provided career exploration, for individuals enrolled in public of alternative high schools ages 16 to 21, in the field of justice and emergency services careers such as police officers, firefighters, and paramedics. (Ended March 2019)
- Job ChalleNGe Grants - This program expanded existing National Guard Youth ChalleNGe programs under the Department of Defense to court-involved youth, offering educational, vocational, and technical skills to high school dropouts ages 16 to 18. (Ended November 2018)
- Linking Employment Activities Pre-Release Demonstration (LEAP) – LEAP served as a precursor to Pathway Home and link incarcerated individuals in local jails to American Job Centers in their communities pre-release, in order to increase their opportunities for successful reentry into their communities. (Ended September 2018)
- Face Forward Intermediary and Community Grants - This program offered youth a second chance to succeed in the workforce by removing the stigma of having a juvenile record through diversion and/or expungement and other strategies that mitigate juvenile records and by providing the opportunity to develop job skills and training in high-demand sectors that lead to industry-recognized credentials and employment opportunities. (Ended September 2018)
