Purpose

This Unemployment Insurance Program Letter (UIPL) provides clarity around the U.S. Department of Labor’s (Department) use of the terms “access” and “equitable access,” and further describes how program integrity is impacted by efforts to ensure equitable access to the Unemployment Insurance (UI) program. This UIPL informs states of ways that equitable access can be evaluated and enhanced, including through technical assistance and tools from various Department initiatives and state-based partnerships.

Purpose

The purpose of this Training and Employment Guidance Letter (TEGL) is to provide information to the public workforce system and other entities that receive federal financial assistance under Title I of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), as well as education and training programs or activities receiving Department of Labor (DOL) financial assistance, regarding the prohibition on discrimination based on actual or perceived religion, shared ancestry, or ethnic characteristics.
