Increase Career Opportunities for Your Students and Recent Graduates with Disabilities
The Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) helps students and recent graduates with disabilities explore a career in the Federal Government. College career counselors, disability services staff, and student veteran services staff may register their school to participate in the program. The WRP is free for schools and students.
Strengthen Your School's Employment Connections
By registering your school with the WRP, you can:
- Improve job and internship prospects for your students and recent graduates with disabilities. WRP applicant information is viewed by federal employers from all cabinet-level departments and many independent federal agencies nationwide.
- Develop your students' resume-writing and interview skills. WRP applicants can engage in career development opportunities to showcase their skills and abilities to hiring managers.
- Expand your knowledge of federal hiring through training and webinars with WRP staff. You can better educate your students about federal service.
- Grow the relationship between your career counseling, disability services, and student veteran services offices. Collaborate with other colleges and universities to share best practices on using the WRP successfully.
School Participation Is Easy
College or university staff can register their school and serve as a WRP school coordinator. Coordinators conduct outreach to students and recent graduates with disabilities, and share information about the Schedule A hiring authority and application deadlines.
U.S. postsecondary institutions accredited by one of the accrediting agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education may participate in the WRP. Current, full-time undergraduate or graduate students with a disability, or those who have graduated within two and a half years of the WRP fall application period may apply.
How to Register Your School
School staff can register with the WRP annually from April through June. If registration is not currently open, please contact WRP program managers at wrp@dol.gov to indicate your interest.
- School coordinator registration will open on April 6, 2026.
