A Time to Celebrate and Educate: National Disability Employment Awareness Month 2022
With the month of October underway, businesses of all sizes are celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)—the nationwide campaign that honors the contributions of workers with disabilities and highlights supportive, inclusive employment policies and practices.
This year’s NDEAM theme, “Disability: Part of the Equity Equation,” celebrates the essential role disabled individuals play in the workplace, as well as disability’s role in the rich diversity of our nation. The free 2022 NDEAM poster—available for mail order or download in both English and Spanish—captures this theme and offers a perfect centerpiece for workplace NDEAM displays that illustrate your company's commitment to a disability-inclusive workforce.
NDEAM’s national sponsor, the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy, is empowering everyone to take part in the campaign by offering a centralized website of NDEAM resources. The website includes a list of ways to participate in NDEAM, sample proclamation and press release templates, and a social media toolkit full of ready-to-use posts and graphics. Also featured is an animated video highlighting NDEAM and how to take part.
