The Engaging Workers and Civil Society to Strengthen Labor Law Enforcement (Engage II) project aims to improve the knowledge of and compliance with labor laws in Georgia.

The Problem

In September 2020, the Government of Georgia passed a series of labor laws that included re-establishing the labor inspectorate and developing mechanisms to ensure effective enforcement of labor protections and safeguards across the country.

Our Strategy

To support the implementation of the labor laws, the Engage II project will:

  1. Raise awareness of workers’ rights, labor law, and the role of the labor inspectorate among workers and employers;
  2. Train business associations and unions in workplace dispute resolution through negotiation and mediation; and
  3. Support the labor inspectorate in developing mechanisms to improve transparency and accountability.
