Correction Programs

The Employee Benefits Security Administration's correction programs make it easy for you to comply with the law and fix violations. The Voluntary Fiduciary Correction Program (VFCP) is a way for plan officials to correct violations and avoid excise taxes for prohibited transactions. The Delinquent Filer Voluntary Compliance (DFVC) Program gives plan administrators a way to avoid higher civil penalty assessments by satisfying the program's requirements and voluntarily paying a reduced penalty. The Abandoned Plan Program facilitates the termination of, and distribution of benefits from, individual account pension plans that have been abandoned by their sponsoring employers.
